Freestanding, range and hob

Cooker installation

Gas cookers, ranges and hobs connected, tested and left safe — the right connection, the stability bracket, and a tightness test on the whole installation.

  • Correct bayonet or rigid connection
  • Stability bracket fitted where required
  • Tightness test on the installation
  • Old appliance disconnected and taken away

A ten-minute job done properly

A cooker connection is quick, which is exactly why it gets bodged. A freestanding cooker needs a bayonet fitting with a correctly rated hose routed so it can't foul the back of the appliance, and a stability chain or bracket so it can't tip when the door is open. A hob needs a rigid connection and an accessible isolation valve. We do both to the letter and test the installation for tightness afterwards.

Ventilation and clearances

Cookers need room around them and air into the room, and both are checked as part of the fit. If the kitchen doesn't have what the appliance needs, we'll tell you before it's unboxed rather than after it's plumbed in.
