Everything expensive about a bathroom happens at first fix, when nobody is looking at it. Waste falls, pipe centres, noggins where the basin and rail will hang, the shower valve at the depth the finished tile will sit at — get those right and second fix is a good day. Get them wrong and somebody is cutting tiles off a wall.

We check the incoming main and the existing system before recommending a valve, and if the answer is that you need a pump or an unvented cylinder to get what you're picturing, you'll hear it at the quote rather than at handover.
